Yes it is a sloth bear and is about 5-6 months old. I have asked for the dimensions to my friends in Nepal, hopefully I will get it soon. I will let you know..
Manoj.....
I did sent the NEYLS pix to Kellan and Christine, and I think they shared them with the national office. One of our Panda Miti pix ended up on the national website. My daughter and her friend are in the centerfold of the JGI annual report with a pic that the professional photographer took at the Harvard meet-up last year. Fun!
There are some great pictures there. Have you sent them to the NE office?
As for keeping members engaged, I think the best way to do that is to let them come up with, plan and implement the projects. I have always found that the more leadership people take in a project the more they are invested in it and then the more they will come back.
You might try starting with the community survey that is in the resource center on the R&S website. It is a good activity to get kids thinking about problems in their community. Then try and facilitate a discussion around those problems and see if the group cannot come to a consensus about the biggest problems facing their community. Then if you help empower those who are most excited about it to kind of take charge I think you will see the group get very excited and committed to whatever project they came up with.
Please let me know how it goes! Also, if you shoot me (dchase@janegoodall.org) or Christine Ellersick an email I am sure we could find a NE Youth Leader to come and speak to your group, that is another great way to inspire and motivated them.
Glad to hear you enjoyed Deus and Manoj's visit, they are down here in VA with us now! I am so excited to spend some time with them. Hope all is well!
Best,
Dave
Thanks a lot for those encouraging words on my page.My desire is to inspire more young Africans to contribute their quota in transforming our motherland...we all can do something no matter how small.
