Updates on our growing community

Hello, in case I haven't been able to stop by your page and personally say hello and extend a welcoming hand, let me do it now. My name is Bryce and I am on the online community director and webmaster at JGI, and I am so glad to be here to welcome you to the Jane Goodall Institute Community for Social Change!

In the last 3 days we have seen our community grow from 50 or so members to more than 270! which is really great. I want to say a big thanks to everyone who has invited friends, created or joined groups and generally made this community a great group to be a part of.

Updates and Highlights:

the JGI Community Recruitment Challenge As most of you know we are running a recruitment contest to try to help grow our membership. While I am not going to give away our leaders, I am going to let you know that so far - your fellow members have invited more than 2000 friends to join the community! This is just fantastic! The more folks that join the stronger our community will become. Remember that we have changed the winning prize from a DVD to a personally signed copy of Jane's biography written by Dale Peterson.

Coming Soon: Custom "My Page" Contest As a lot of you have already discovered each of you have a homepage here on the community site that you can customize to really make your own. I have been visiting many of your pages and have noticed that some of you are putting a lot of time into making your page really stand out. In a week or two I am planning on launching a custom "My Page" design contest, and winners home pages will be featured on the home page. So if design is your thing, this is your notice get in there and start tweaking your page today.
