Over the next several of days on the JGI Network for Social Change Blog I will be featuring the story of three athlete activists on a athletic quest to empower and inspire society to see the potential for wind power as renewable and reliable energy source.
To Cross the Moon (2XtM) is the story of these three extreme athletes Sam Salwei, Jason Magness and Paul Cassedy as they attempted to “snowkite” across the state of North Dakota in the dead of winter through temperatures as low as -42 degrees Fahrenheit, from the U.S. – Canadian border in the north to the North Dakota state line in the south, the trio covered 390 miles in subzero temperatures using only the wind to propel them. Carrying everything they needed on their backs for the three week expedition, propelled only the power of the wind and their convictions. Driven not only by their quest for adventure and extreme challenges, the three athletes are passionate about empowering and inspiring society to see the potential for wind power as a meaningful and essential energy source.
