Profile Information

About Me:
Jane has been my hero since childhood. She had the Tarzan book and I had the television version. I spent most of my days on the farm at the creek in my own little world imagining myself as Tarzan while I swung from the monkey vines that hung from the trees. Mom could hear me all the way to the house doing the Tarzan yodel.

Today, I am 35 and am married with two boys ages 11 and 17. I have my own little farm in Mineral Wells, Texas and love being outside and being able to witness the beautiful aspects of the world around me.

I had always hoped to follow in Jane's steps and eventually live in Africa to study the elephants, just as Jane studied the chimpanzees. But, some dreams just don't come true, so I am studying Psychology at Tarleton State University and will go on to be a part of education somewhere in the world. I write poetry, stories and am working on a book at the moment. I also do a lot of art work with wood and glass. In fact, Jane has some of my art work, a dreamcatcher woven into a sculpture of a chimpanzee. I also sent her an arrow head I found on my property, something that is symbolic to me in many ways since I am Choctaw.

I cannot wait to participate in this new community group at JGI. Nothing means more to me than to be a part of something like JGI. So, it is nice to meet you and to introduce myself.

Thank you - Jeanette

Dealing with Our Frustration

Many of us struggle with the fact that we are bound to the rules and expectations of our modern day societies with little hope of escaping, but for the one or two weeks each year when we vacation. We must meet the standards that our society dictates and expects, most of which are detrimental to the Natural environment that many of us so desperately long for. Because, as humans, we have pushed and pushed so much that we have extended our position far outside of that Natural environment and now, w… Continue

just reading about the pups and moms breaks my heart..I get more of the cat dumps they tend to leave dogs closer to the city maybe thinking tourists or police will help them, I was able to save two from town and find them homes a third could not be caught..they were very young and hanging around a dumpster[by a fast food place and no one even tried to help] our closest town is a tourist town and MAYBE they thought not there problem..I know what you mean about the farmers also but I only have three neighbors and two of them will help me! one of our adventures was saving a goat caught in fencing another was a herd of buffalo..thats a long and thunderous story but the strangest part was to have a buffalo looking in the bathroom window..pushing over kennels and just thier enormous size..what a day!!THANK-YOU for being you!
