It's sad that from where I come from (Singapore), plastic/paper bags are available free of charge while reusable bags are scarcely seen and even if there're any, they're really expensive!

Cotton reusable shopping bags are now available at 10 bags for $40 (includes shipping and handling) from Resources for Health Roots & Shoots! We hope that this lower price and smaller quantity of bags will help fulfill the vision of the R&S leaders who conceived of the campaign to enable groups to focus on environmental activism first and fundraising second. With the blank space in the center of the bags, groups have the opportunity to screen print the logos of local green sponsors onto bags, thereby reducing costs while promoting environmentally friendly businesses . Our group has been doing Pollution Solutions, our reusable bag project, since 2005. We have learned a lot over the years, and the project continues to evolve. Please check out our project at the Pollution Solutions blog on our website www.resourcesforhealth.org. You can even view “A Story About Shopping Bags” slideshow, one of the latest additions to our project, which has really helped us explain our passion to the community. When you purchase bags, you have the option of receiving a CD of the presentation with your order. We will be happy to share what we have learned over the years and also look forward to learning more about your projects. Together we are making a difference! Let’s continue to rid our communities and our world of disposable shopping bags. Choose to reuse!
